Day 13---The Big Question

I trust that you had a good Easter weekend. Saturday in Omaha was beautiful and I enjoyed a walk and some time on my patio listening to neighborhood sounds—basketball thumping, birds singing, dogs barking and people yelling “Hello” to one another. Sunday, on the other hand, couldn’t have been any more miserable weatherize. Dreary, cold, windy, and rain.
I began the day by watching two church services online. The worship music and the messages were so inspiring. I came away with an expectation of “new life” springing forth.
Later in the day, however, I had to reach into my “grateful” bucket for some thoughts to keep me going in the right direction. So glad to have that survival skill available at a moment’s notice. As soon as I began to thank God, all negative thoughts dissipated.
Okay… so here we are at the beginning of another week—and the week is made up of seven days. For our purposes, we are going to take one day at a time. So here’s my question—tonight before you go to bed—
What do you want to say about your day?
To answer that question with satisfaction, we need to begin the day with a plan. Maybe you are good at doing this mentally but I find it necessary to write things down. Once our plan is formulated, we call a meeting with God and pray our “30 Second Prayer.” Again, use your own words but mine are usually something like this: "Father, here’s my plan. All-day today cause my thoughts to become agreeable to Your will so that tonight I can go to bed saying, 'This has been an amazing day!”
You might think that “amazing” is carrying it a bit too far, but if God has amazing days available, we might as well we just go for it?? The more of God we allow into our day—and the more established and successful we become—the more our lives will reflect the goodness of God.
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

When we talk to God about our concern, the Bible says we can expect that God will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and then we’ll know what to do. It’s not as hard as we think. As we spend time with God, it will become our key to success.
