Day 30—-A Flourishing Finish

Here we are on Day 30. Looking back, it seems like the last thirty days have gone by quickly. I will have to admit, however, that on Day 15 I wondered if I had what it took to do fifteen more days. Thankfully, God always has more than enough if we will not get too far ahead of ourselves. On that day, I took my eyes off of the two weeks ahead and put them back on Day 15 where they belonged. Immediately my thoughts came into peace and order.
This morning as I asked God what to write to you, these song lyrics began to stream into my thoughts.
“There is a river
And it flows from deep within
There is a fountain
That frees the soul from sin
Come to this water
There is a vast supply
There is a river
That never shall run dry”

God has a “vast supply” of love, forgiveness, peace, joy, resources…..and the list goes on. As we partner with Him, committing our day to Him, and being willing to defer to Him throughout the day, we can confidently say,
There is more where that came from.
God has a “vast supply” of all that we need to live this day—and every day—successfully. If loneliness, impatience, condemnation, confusion and lack of resources fill our thoughts, in a moment we can experience a turn-around by praying our simple prayer:
Father, I commit this moment to You.
Cause my thoughts to agree with Your will—
So I know what to do!
Instead of defaulting to the low road of defeat, we can pick ourselves up and choose the high road where God is waiting to help us. (Read Isaiah 41:10 NLT)
I believe during these 30 Days, He has started to work in us and if we let Him, He will “keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish” each and every day until our lives on earth are over.
There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

Today is the last day of our 30 Days, but even though it might not be daily, you can expect to hear from me. I encourage myself when I write to encourage you so of course, I want to continue!

Beginning the day with God puts us in a posture of surrender. We release our plans, seek His wisdom, and step into the peace that comes from trusting His direction. When things feel overwhelming, peace has to be a choice.
