Finding Our New Normal #13

Those of you who are consistently meeting with God may be sensing His presence in a very personal way. There is something so awesome about that!
When I first began my “meetings” with God, I would grab my coffee and walk down the hallway to the sunroom. As I approached this room, I sensed that God was there waiting for me. This fact motivated me to make this time with Him a priority.
I discovered that God is not stuffy in where that meeting takes place. You might be on a park bench near your walking path, or in your car over your noon hour, or maybe you’ve chosen your home office. God will meet with you anywhere as long as it’s a place when He has your full attention.
Like any well-meaning father, God longs to help us with those life challenges that are too big for us. He’s willing to listen when we lay our concerns before Him. When we try to go it alone, we make mistakes—mistakes that take time to clean up—mistakes that cause us a loss of time, loss of energy, and even loss of finances. The end result is a feeling of being overwhelmed and exhausted—and maybe even disillusioned.
It doesn’t have to be that way because God is ready and willing to help us with everything that concerns us—big or small. As we pray our Proverbs 16:3 promise, our thoughts come into an efficient order so that everything falls into place. When surprises arise, because we have committed our day to God, this new occurrence easily finds it’s proper place.
Here’s another simple—yet powerful—-promise to post on the cover of your prayer journal:
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and He will help you.

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
