It’s difficult to imagine that God is searching for us, but that is exactly what the Bible says—
The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to
strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
2 Chronicles 16:9 (NLT)
God understands that sometimes life becomes too big for us. We don’t know what to do, nor do we have the ability to address the challenges that loom in front of us.
This is the perfect time to pray our powerful Proverb’s prayer (based on Proverbs 16:3 AMPC).
Father, I commit this situation to You.
Cause me to think the way You think—
So I know what to do.
He not only wants to strengthen us, but He also wants to help us.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust Him, and He will help you.
Psalm 37:5 (NLT)
Okay, we’ve prayed the prayer of commitment, but how do we think the way He thinks? That part is up to God. As we do the first part — commit the situation to Him, He will do the second part — give us thoughts that will lead us to make the right decisions. I call them “thoughts I did not think.”
Consistently invite God into your day and tell Him what your plans are. Ask for His thoughts and even ask Him questions. If you make this a daily habit, He will faithfully give you thoughts you did not think.
