Here's The Plan

When I was preparing myself for these days ahead, I took a pen and paper and began to brainstorm of what I wanted to accomplish during this time. I came up with five areas that I will be focusing on.
I do want to say that we each have to design our strategy to fit our lives. For example, if you are a Health Care Worker who is putting in 10-12 hour days and then come home to meet the needs of your family, you are not going to be able to do what someone else has time to do. So please, design it for what fits for you.
If you only have time for one of these areas, do the first one—because it is THE most important one. It is foundational to make everything else in your day function.
The five areas are as follows:
- Spiritually—Begin the day with God in prayer.
- Physically—Keep yourself strong by eating the right food and the right time. Also, get exercise and drink plenty of water.
- Mentally—Read or listen to something uplifting
- Socially—Connect with family and/or friends
- Emotionally—Every evening write down something about the day that you want to thank God for.
Again, if your time is limited, I suggest that you begin the day in prayer and end it in thanksgiving to God. If you have time for the other three—all the better.
As you may know I have written The 30-Second Prayer That Changes Everything. It literally takes 30 seconds to commit your day to God and ask Him to cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will so you can be established in peace and experience success.
If you are new to prayer, allow me to form a prayer to get you started.
Father, I roll my plans upon You today Cause my thoughts to become agreeable to Your will So that I can be established and succeed.
On some days I have even said, “…..so I can be established in peace and get through this day—or this situation or this season.”
So now it’s your turn. Go ahead and write out what you would like to see happen and then begin by giving your plans to God. I think you will be quite amazed at the outcome!

If we truly want more of God in our lives, we have to be willing to make room for Him. And that’s not always easy. But we’re not expected to do it alone. Sometimes we need to refresh the screen of our hearts to see clearly again. When we lay down our own plans and fully trust God, our vision begins to change. What once looked confusing becomes aligned, and we’re able to step confidently into everything He has already prepared for us. Beginning the day with God puts us in a posture of surrender. We release our plans, seek His wisdom, and step into the peace that comes from trusting His direction.
