HONOR

One of the definitions of “honor” is to have confidence in someone. We honor God by acknowledging what He has done for us. He looked at my situation — and your situation and said, “They are going to need a Savior. Jesus, would You go to the cross for them so they could be forgiven and set free from their sins — so they could be made righteous and live with us for all eternity?”
Jesus, even though He agreed to death on that cross, agonized over how it would go. The Bible says, “He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want Your will to be done, not mine.” (Matthew 26:39 NLT)
We see here that Jesus had a choice. What an amazing Savior!
We also have a choice. God provided salvation for us, but we must choose to receive it for ourselves. Receiving Christ as your Savior is a very personal decision — one we each
have to make. You can pray your own prayer of surrender, or I have written one if you need a little help. The important thing is to make it your own by praying for your
heart.
God, I admit I’m a sinner.
[Trying to live life on my terms.]
I believe Jesus’ death on the cross paid the penalty for my sin.
[Thank You, Jesus, for paying that price for me.]
Jesus, please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart.
[I want to be in continual fellowship with You.]
Be my Savior and the Lord of my life.
[I am so grateful that You saved me from myself.]
Thank You for giving me this fresh, new beginning.
[And please help me live for You—every day of my life.]
Amen.
