TRUST

Let’s face it! We are not going to trust someone until we know they are trustworthy — and rightly so. To believe in someone, we take a look at their track record. What have they done in the past that would make me think that I could put my trust in them today?
As I interact with people, I hear different opinions concerning the trustworthiness of God. Some trust easily because they have experienced His goodness throughout their lives. Others are hesitant, and some refuse to trust because of what they think God is like.
I heard Pastor Bill Johnson say, “God is better than we think, so we need to change the way we think.”
In my last post, we saw the unlimited love of God demonstrated
on our behalf.
“For this is how God loved the world:
He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone
who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 (NLT)
I think I love people, but would I be willing to give my
child to die so the people of the world could be saved? I think not! God’s love towards us is far greater than we can ever fathom. The following statement takes the definition of His love to the next level.
“Since He did not spare even His own
Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t He also
give us everything else?”
Romans 8:32 (NLT)
To walk out the remainder of our lives here on earth, we must have that “everything else.” We must have God’s love. We must also have His peace and His joy. Everything God has provided for us can be found, as we partner with Him.
Let’s take our trust to the next level today by changing the way we think
so that we can enjoy all that God has for us — and of course, be able to share it with others.

If we truly want more of God in our lives, we have to be willing to make room for Him. And that’s not always easy. But we’re not expected to do it alone.
