Yesterday we read in 3 John 1:2—“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way…”
Another word for prosper is to “succeed.” (synonyms.com)
I know you have seen this scriptural promise before, but I believe this is how He wants us to prosper.
Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will,
and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC)
God is instructing us to commit our works (or plans) to Him so that He can help us. In other words, He wants us to partner with Him. I look at it this way — we make a plan and run it by Him and ask for His advice. “God, what do you think about this?”
Then as we yield to Him, we receive His suggestions. As we slowly move ahead on what we
think is right, it becomes apparent what we should do — or not
to do.
In the seven-plus years that I have applied this promise to my plans, I have experienced God’s guidance and been over-the-moon grateful for His help! There were also times when I went ahead on my own, and things became complicated. Things took longer and ended up costing more.
We can do it the easy way or the hard way. The choice is ours!

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
