Today I am taking the liberty of expanding our vision wider than our four areas. Let’s zoom out and take a look at the four weeks in front of us. The next four weeks includes our four areas of eating, hydrating, exercising, and sleeping, but it is much more than those.
Christmas is the time of giving. If we don’t feel well in our bodies, our focus will be on how badly we feel instead of experiencing the joy of giving to others. If you are like me, you do not want to spend one minute being defeated, overwhelmed, or frustrated. Yuk—no way! Instead, let’s refocus and return to what we have learned.
How do we do that? By going to our Father and saying, “I’m back! I have just found out that I cannot experience true and lasting success without You. Without Your help, I am just not enough.”
Let’s revisit our simple prayer of commitment:
Father, I commit this day to You.
Cause my thoughts to agree with Your will—
So I know what to do!
The month of December can be filled with lots of decisions. Once we get our four areas in order, we can turn every
decision over to God and ask the best way to successfully move forward. What gifts should we buy? How should we steward our finances, our time, and our activities during this month? Should we attend social gatherings—or not? Should we travel—or not?
The powerful little prayer above applies to every decision that is required of you in the next four weeks. Bringing God into your plans is the key
to your success. This can be the most peaceful and enjoyable Christmas season ever—because you and God together are more than enough!
You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in You,
all whose thoughts are fixed on You!
