Feeling Fit and Fab #13

We are over halfway to my “21 Days” of blog posts in this challenge to make daily healthy choices so we can steward our body well and bring glory to God. The Bible says that we are to honor God with our bodies:
And so, dear brothers and sisters,
I plead with you to give your bodies to God because
of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—
the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,
but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God’s will for you,
which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)
It’s very easy, especially at this time of year, to allow the busyness of the season to overwhelm us. Stress builds as we think of all that must be done. However, the above scripture instructs us not to fall into the traditional way of doing things but instead allow God to help us change the way we think.
This is a very unusual season and if we aren’t careful, we might view it as a time of loss—but how about if we submit all of our holiday plans, situations, and decisions to God and ask Him to cause our thoughts to [change and] become
agreeable to His will.
Instead of scrambling to meet all of our expectations, let’s ask ourselves what we would like to see happen in the next four weeks. Grab a pencil and your journal and brainstorm some possibilities. Begin with listing some things that you would like to remember about Christmas 2020. [Here are some ideas to get started.] After you have made your list, number them in order of priority.
- Being with family?
- Delicious food?
- Quiet contentment?
- The perfect gift?
- Beautiful decorations?
When you have laid out your plan, submit it to God and ask for His help in designing a healthy, stress-free holiday which will end in being established in joy and peace—a season in which we will say, “This has been the most amazing Christmas!”

When we talk to God about our concern, the Bible says we can expect that God will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and then we’ll know what to do. It’s not as hard as we think. As we spend time with God, it will become our key to success.
