Pause and reflect….
We just finished 21 days of looking for the good so we can maintain a positive mental attitude and spiritual attitude during this season of our lives. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit of God is willing to help us think “right” thoughts and have a “right” attitude.
Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
Ephesians 4:23 (NLT)
Instead of what??
Instead of being “corrupted by lust and deception.” Verse 24 says, “Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”
We do that by committing our daily plans to God and asking Him to cause our thoughts to come into alignment with His will—so we can be established and succeed. (Taken from Proverbs 16:3 AMPC.)
What a partnership!! Linking up with God’s plan for our day brings success and….
- Seven successful days equal a successful week.
- 4.3 successful weeks equal a successful month.
- Twelve successful months equal a successful year.
Of course, we are probably not going to hit the mark in every single decision that we make but we will be a whole lot closer if we will humbly submit our plans to God and ask for His help. His solutions are always the best and I am grateful for each one that I can align with. I have made right decisions and wrong decisions and I certainly like the “right” ones better!
Next week I will be beginning a new 21-Day set of blogs called, “Finding Our New Normal.” In the meantime, I encourage you to:
- Continue (or begin) having your daily meeting with God to talk over what concerns you.
- Read from your devotional, looking up the scriptures in your Bible. (See note below.)
- Write what you are learning in a journal—so you can look back and see what you have discovered over the course of a week.
We can use this time to develop new ways of thinking and responding so that we come out of this season refreshed and empowered. As we do, we will be well on our way to “finding our new normal.”
NOTE: If you don’t presently have a devotional, you could go back and read 2-3 of my posts from the last 21-Days. I pray they will be a blessing to you—even in the second reading!
