What if you awakened to these words:
“May I have the pleasure of your company today?”
You would probably quickly look around and wonder who was speaking to you. You might even think, “Who would want to spend the day with me?” I will be stopping at the dry cleaners, making phone calls, taking care of responsibilities, trying to come up with some creative solutions to a problem at work….not exactly exciting!
Then how about those nagging suggestions like spending quality time with the people you love the most, calling friends you haven’t seen in a while, and going out of your way to nice things for the neighbors…..and the list goes on!
Are you tired yet? What about having time for yourself? Every so often we all need to press the “Refresh” button to gain fresh perspectives, a renewed attitude, and increased strength. When are we going to fit that in?
We have a lot of moving pieces happening, but let’s go back to our original question. What if God — the Creator of the Universe — the One Who has all the answers, all the creative ideas, and all the resources that we will ever need, asks, “May I have the pleasure of your company today?”
This is where our Biblical success scripture (Proverbs 16:3 AMPC) comes into play. We commit our plans to Him and His reply is the following:
“As you commit your plans to Me—
I’ll walk with you throughout your day.
I’ll give you ideas that you have never thought of before.
I’ll remove things that are not necessary.
I’ll set things your plans into a peaceful order.
I’ll remind you of things you are forgetting.
I’ll tweak your plans to save you time, effort, and money.
I’ll help you avoid delays and do-overs.
I’ll show you the shortest, most effective route to success.”
Every morning, God wonders if we are going to say “Yes” to His invitation, “May I have the pleasure of your company today.” I don’t know about you but my reply is a resounding YES!!!

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
