RELATIONSHIP

God created us to be in a relationship with Him. He wants to establish a connection with each of us. Like any well-meaning father who loves his children, He doesn’t want them to struggle when He could be helping them. This is why being in a relationship with Him is so important.
So let’s review again how we make that connection. I like to say that the instructions were hidden in plain sight in the book of Proverbs. On one ordinary day, I came upon the following words. It was as if God took a highlighter and brought them to the light so I could see how important they were.
“Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and]
so shall your plans be established and succeed.”
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC)
Our “works” are our plans. What plans do you have for today? This week? This vacation? This business meeting? This evening’s date?
The second instruction we find in the above verse says “commit and trust them (your plans) wholly to Him.”
How do we do that? By praying, “Father, I commit my plans to You.”
Now that was easy, wasn’t it? The key here is to not just say
the words — anyone can do that — but to sincerely mean the words we say.
As we grow in applying this “Proverbs 16:3 Promise,” it will get easier and easier because we will have experienced enough peace, joy, and success that we will not want to live any other way.
Like any well-meaning father, God loves and wants to protect His children. He wants to give them wisdom and help them walk around the pot-holes of life. He wants His children to receive all
that His Son, Jesus, died for.
Once we experience the goodness of God, our hearts will thrill with joy, and we won’t be able to help ourselves. We’ll feel compelled to run to Him at the end of the day with thankfulness in our hearts. Again, like any earthly father, God will joy in hearing those wonderful words, “Thank You for all You did for me today!”
We are learning the joy of beginning and ending each day with God. This is a picture of a true relationship. No matter what is going on in your life, if you have established this "friendship" with God, you will never have an alone-day again!
“You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what you have done.”

Beginning the day with God puts us in a posture of surrender. We release our plans, seek His wisdom, and step into the peace that comes from trusting His direction. When things feel overwhelming, peace has to be a choice. God offers us a peace that settles our hearts and shapes how we treat others. ‘ Peace on earth, goodwill to men ’ is a reminder to let that peace live in us—and move through us.
