For many of us, the circumstances of this last year caused us to have extra time on our hands. I got through the first few months just fine, but in late summer I found myself languishing. I think I allowed boredom to set in coupled now with the thought of a long winter ahead. These thoughts began pushing me close to the slippery slope of self-pity and loneliness. I knew that if I did not make a quality decision, I was going to be in emotional trouble. And not for one minute did I want to take that road!
Okay, a decision is made! Time to turn this ship around — and quickly! I invite you to come with me on this journey.
Let’s refresh the “screen” of our hearts to what we know to be the truth. When we choose to pray our “Powerful Proverb’s Promise,” we will experience an infilling of new and exciting ideas that will establish us in peace and cause us to have successful days. Truth?? Yes, absolutely! So here’s our prayer:
Father, I commit this day to You.
Cause my thoughts to agree with Your will —
So I know what to do!

At any moment of time, we can change our trajectories in this simple, straightforward act of submitting to God. We may be in the “thick of it,” but God sees the expanse of our entire lives, and He is willing to give us His thoughts to fill our days with endless possibilities — not for busyness but for fulfillment and satisfaction.
Gradually I began to see time as a gift
that was meant for our enjoyment. The waiting was over, and I began to look forward to each day with renewed expectation. Now, I can honestly say that there are not enough hours in the day to do all that I would like to do. Make phone calls to friends, read good books, learn new things, write this blog…
Productivity brings joy — the kind of joy that propels us to meet God at the end of the day to thank Him for working in us, through us, and for us!
