During our lifetimes, we face many challenges — both large and small. Our “Powerful Proverb’s Promise” is the key to successfully overcoming each one.
“Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will,
and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.”
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC)
Sometimes a challenge can catch us off guard. We don’t have the resources (the wisdom, the knowledge, the money) to do what is required to be successful.
Thus, the guessing game begins. Try this — no try that, work hours on this, spend money on that. Certainly, we’ll be successful in the end, right?
But what if we set our humanness
aside for a minute, and bring God — the Creator of the Universe — in to advise us? Since our all-knowing, all-powerful God sees our situation from His vantage point, wouldn’t it be wise to defer to Him and allow Him to give us His instructions so that we could meet every challenging situation with His promised success?
“Father, I commit this challenging situation to You.
Cause me to think the way You think —
so I know what to do.”
Can you imagine what God can do for those who trust Him for practical answers to everyday challenges? Take, for instance, the college student, who has been given an assignment that is worth 40% of his or her final grade. Or the surgeon who is entering the OR to perform a delicate operation to remove a debilitating disease? Or the CEO who is heading for the boardroom to address the company’s investors?
Whether it’s the classroom, the operating room, the boardroom, or the room you are in, God is ready and willing to help us. (Psalms 55:22) He has a good plan for resolving each of our situations successfully. (Jeremiah 29:11) We can be sure of that because every day of our lives were recorded in a book before we was even conceived. (Psalms 139:16)

When we talk to God about our concern, the Bible says we can expect that God will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and then we’ll know what to do. It’s not as hard as we think. As we spend time with God, it will become our key to success.
