Day 16—-Wait A Minute!!

Yesterday I experienced what I call a “Wait A Minute” moment. That’s when something dawns on us in the form of a new thought or a reminder of something we have seen or heard before. Notice how this goes right along with our Proverbs 16:3 promise.
Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will,
and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC)
Two days ago I had to make a financial decision that I was uncertain about. One of my options sounded very sensible and logical but it was going to be costly. I was willing to do it if it was necessary, but not if it wasn’t. Finally, I decided to move ahead on it, knowing I had thirty days to reverse it if I changed my mind.
Later that day I talked with a knowledgeable and trusted friend about my decision. He understood the situation and suggested that I get more information. Now I had more to consider and not knowing what to do brought additional concern. Okay, let’s be honest—it brought me S-T-R-E-S-S. However, I knew enough to give the situation to God because—here’s what I know for sure—He always knows exactly what I should do.
The next morning, I prayed our Proverbs 16:3 prayer:
Father, I commit this decision to You.
Cause my thoughts to agree with Your will—
So I know what to do.
Later that afternoon I decided to make one more phone call for further clarification, but before I could put in the number a sudden thought occurred to me. Here was my “Wait a minute” moment! God was invading my thoughts with a reminder of something I dealt with a year ago concerning this. I went to my files and sure enough—there was documentation that confirmed that I did not need to spend this additional money. Relief flooded my soul as I called and canceled my previous decision. Instead of stress, I was experiencing pure joy and I was able to go to bed saying, “Thank You, God, because of You this has been an amazing day!”
Note to self: Next time wait a minute—or more—before moving ahead! I am still learning.
