Day 19—Is It Time?

They are telling us that it is time to come out of our homes—to re-enter our workplaces, our gyms, our restaurants…..But the question is, “Is it time?” Is it time to safely return to our previous activities?
Whenever we have questions—-concerning this virus or life in general, we can always return to our tried and true foundational promise—
Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC)
For me, this virus has not been the most difficult season of my life. In fall of 2018, my husband went home to be with the Lord. At that point, had I not had this powerful promise to hold on to, I don’t know where I would be. Every day God gave me His thoughts as I committed the day (and my plans) to Him. His grace, His wisdom, His compassion, His strength held me above everything I had to face. I will love and appreciate Him all the days of my life for His goodness towards me. It is my prayer that the truth of this promise is alive and well in your life, so that no matter what you face, you will be assured of God’s presence, His love, and His help.
As we are thinking about our next move now that our country is “opening up,” we can pray something like this:
Father, I commit this “coming out” time to You. Cause my thoughts to agree with Your will—
So I know exactly what to do.
We will probably be getting advice from the leadership of our country, our state, and our city—but God is personal and He knows exactly what you should do and how you should do it. If you haven’t begun committing each of your days to God, this is a wonderful time to start. (Click on Day 3) God wants you to be successful in everything you do. Psalms 139:16 says that God has written all your days in a book. He is a planner and the Architect of your life so you can rest assured that He knows what you should do today, tomorrow, next week and beyond.

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
