Day 21——Anchored In Wisdom

Lately, I have seen the need to be a better listener. As a teacher (which I am), I tend to “teach” when teaching is not required! In other words, I tend to want to talk more than listen—so I have decided to practice being an intentional listener.
One day I heard this snippet of wisdom: “I already know everything I know, so I am going to listen to hear what they
know.” Whoa—stop the clock! That went deep in me! It is time to listen and learn from what others are saying—and also listen and learn what God
is saying! Our thought processes have limitations but God has unlimited wisdom waiting for us.
For twenty days we have been talking about this tried and true promise:
Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will,
and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC)
God is calling us to come to Him, commit our works to Him, and in return, He promises to cause our thoughts to become
agreeable to His will so we can be established and succeed.
I like the word “success, don’t you? But are we willing to let God change the way we think so we can be
successful?
You might ask, “Does God really care about my little problems?” Any of us who have put our faith in the above promise will say a resounding “YES!”
That’s what makes God so amazing! He cares about the little things as well as the big things. I am here to tell you (again) that I would not have made it through this last year and a half had I not been anchored
in the truth of Proverbs 16:3.
All of God’s wisdom is available to us! Think about it. We already know what we know, but what would happen if we would invite God to tell us what He knows?

When things feel overwhelming, peace has to be a choice. God offers us a peace that settles our hearts and shapes how we treat others. ‘ Peace on earth, goodwill to men ’ is a reminder to let that peace live in us—and move through us.
