Day 25—-Finishing Strong

Our “30 Days” are winding down. I have encouraged myself as I have attempted to encourage you. Hopefully, it has helped us focus on the benefits of using this time wisely. I don’t want any of us to be frustrated—about anything.
Let’s think about the good things that have come out of these last five weeks.
- Have you communicated with your family more?
- Have you had more time to reflect on your priorities?
- Have you been able to get some much-needed household tasks completed?
- Have you waved (and maybe chatted) with your neighbors?
- Have you gotten more exercise? And made some good eating choices?
- Have you been intentional about letting go of bad habits?New Paragraph?
Our national, state, and city officials say that we are gradually coming out into our new normal. As we do (which could take another 30 days or more), we have the time to implement additional positive changes.
In this self-evaluation time, I decided to remove all my reoccurring activities from my phone calendar. I wanted the opportunity to think about what should be part of my new lifestyle. More than likely some will be put back on, but others may not.
Then I got to thinking about the relationships in my life. The people who should be most important to me becoming front and center. I want to continue to make calls and send emails and texts to those who God has put in my life.
I also want to continue “exercising” my gratitude muscle. As a parent, I know how I love to hear my children and grandchildren be sincerely grateful for what I have done for them. With all that our Heavenly Father has done for us, it’s only right that we should make His heart glad by appreciating His goodness. (Refer to Day 9 and 17)
This Coronavirus-2020 season will long be remembered—but what will we personally
remember about this time? Yes, we can think about how we gutted our closets and garages, developed that walking routine, and got on YouTube and taught ourselves to do that new thing. Those are all very good—but wouldn’t it be wonderful to remember that this was the time in our lives when we became intentional about having our daily “Meetings With God”—the time when we asked God to “do life” with us?

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
