Day 26—-Now It’s Very Personal!

I began this “30-Day” segment right after President Trump announced that the country should practice social distancing and refraining from all non-essential activities outside of our homes. I titled that blogpost “Now It’s Personal.”
Today my title is, “Now It’s Very
Personal.”
Some states are still saying “Shelter-in-place” and that’s exactly what you should do. The state of Nebraska where I live just announced that as of May 4th the state is opening up various venues under certain guidelines. Wherever you live—it is very personal to you.
What
do we do? When
do we do it? And how
do we do this “coming out?”
It became personal to me yesterday when two of my previous standing appointments called and asked if I wanted to schedule a time. My first thought was to say, “No, I am not ready.” But then I began to wonder if that was the right response. After all, there will
have to be a time to come out. The question is: “Is this the right time for me?”
Both venues said the next available appointment was ten days away. That fact caused me to breathe again because I knew I had time to submit these dates to God. I went ahead and set the dates, knowing that I could postpone them if necessary.
The Bible says,
You saw me before I was born. Every day
of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Psalm 139:16 (NLT)
This means that my two appointment dates are already recorded in God’s book, so if I am not sure if this is my appointed time, I can submit my plans to God and ask for His confirmation.
In Day 19, I wrote these words:
Father, I commit this “coming out” time to You. Cause my thoughts to agree with Your will—
So I know exactly what to do.
God knows exactly what I am supposed to do on these two days—and all of the other days of my life—so I can make a plan, submit it to Him and know that as I move ahead with the plan, He will confirm or adjust my thinking to be in sync with what He wants.
And He will do the same for you!
