Day 27—-God’s Drawing Board

During our day, we make lots of decisions—some of them are small and relatively unimportant and others are larger with greater repercussions. That is why the Bible instructs us to put our trust in God; then every plan that we make will succeed. (Proverbs 16:3 TPT)
Let’s get a picture of that. “Every plan” that we make today will succeed, as we submit the day to our Heavenly Father. Let’s just simply put that to the test. Go ahead and make your plan. Then say, “Here’s what I plan to do. What do You think?”
Yesterday I shared with you that I had two opportunities presented to me and I wasn’t sure whether it was the right time to do them. I went ahead and set the appointments, but I still have time to change them.
Right now I am planning on going. That eliminates any confusing thoughts which might cause anxiety. Keep in mind that I am talking to God about this situation all the time.
Should I go or should I stay?
Are these appointments essential?
Is this the right time?
Questions like these are a way to keep our hearts submitted to the One who knows what is best in every situation. I am happily moving forward but I am willing to stop at any time.
One day as I was having a mental conversation with God I said, “I am going to put my plan on Your drawing board.”
In other words, I am going to lay my plan there so I don’t have to be concerned about it.
I have incorporated “God’s drawing board” into so many decisions since that day. If I don’t have to decide instantly, this act of giving it to Him is my way of saying, “I trust that You will cause my thoughts to become agreeable with Your will so I will be established and succeed.”
My plans for next week are on “God’s drawing board.” I am presently planning to go on Monday morning, but until then I am saying, “God, it’s perfectly fine with me if You close the door but if You don’t I am going to assume this is the right thing to do.
One thing I am sure of—He wants the best for His kids and He’s watching out for us!

Beginning the day with God puts us in a posture of surrender. We release our plans, seek His wisdom, and step into the peace that comes from trusting His direction.
