Feeling Fit and Fab #18

In No. 9 of this Blog Challenge, I wrote about preparing to make good food choices at the Thanksgiving meal. We are only days away from making more choices—this time for our Christmas meal. Of course, we will eat food that we don’t ordinarily eat but we do not have to over-eat that food.
If you remember, I shared a quote with you that has served me well over the years. “The first few bites taste the best—the rest is just chewing.”
Instead of just chewing and chewing and chewing until we are bulging at the seams, why don’t we take a look at the food that is available, and choose three or four of our favorites? Let’s keep in mind that we want to enjoy dessert, so let’s be mindful of what we are choosing to eat before
dessert.
Then, of course, there is always that basket of rolls that somehow ends up right in front of our plates. If it begins to speak
to us, more than likely it wants to steal the enjoyment of our dessert. Let’s be polite and pass it to our left or to our right, reserving our
real estate for dessert!
There may be some of you who will not be gathering with family this year due to Covid. If so, count it all joy. You have fewer decisions to make. You will find it easier to focus on the real reason for the season—Jesus, God’s redemptive plan for the world!
I encourage you to use the following “Power Prayer” to commit your Christmas to God.
Father, I commit Christmas Day (Or Eve) to You.
Cause my thoughts to agree with Your will—
So I know what to do.
I can tell you from experience that God has plenty of delightful ideas stored up for you. When you invite Him to align your thoughts with His, you will be amazed at what transpires! God wants you to have the best Christmas ever!

If we truly want more of God in our lives, we have to be willing to make room for Him. And that’s not always easy. But we’re not expected to do it alone.
