You might wonder how you receive wisdom from heaven. One of the ways is through reading the Bible. Remember my advice about getting a devotional? The daily devotion will act as a GPS, leading you into a truth from God’s Word. One day my devotion included the following verse:
The Lord Yahweh has equipped me
with the anointed, skillful tongue of a teacher—
to know how to speak a timely word to the weary.
Morning by morning, He awakens my heart.
He opens my ears to hear His voice, to be trained to teach.
Isaiah 50:4 (TPT)
When I read this, it was very personal to me being a teacher by trade. It was as if it had my name on it. It became one of the very first scriptures that I documented in my journal.
A second way to hear from God is by thinking a thought we did not think. It’s when the Holy Spirit causes an idea or a truth to dawn
on us. Have you ever had that happen, and you knew it had to be from God because you didn’t think it yourself?
This is why the Scriptures say:
Things never discovered or heard of before,
things beyond our ability to imagine—
these are the many things God has in store
for all His lovers.
But God now unveils these profound
realities to us by the Spirit.

In my last post, I said, “God will be to you as personal as you want Him to be!”
I remember how endearing these words were to me when I received them many years ago. To this day it is a foundational truth upon which I build my relationship with God. I encourage you to write this profound truth in your journal and embrace it for yourself.
No matter what concerns us, our loving, all-wise Father knows exactly what each of us needs—and He is ready and willing to share it with us!

If we truly want more of God in our lives, we have to be willing to make room for Him. And that’s not always easy. But we’re not expected to do it alone. Sometimes we need to refresh the screen of our hearts to see clearly again. When we lay down our own plans and fully trust God, our vision begins to change.
