Feeling Fit and Fab #8
If I were going to give this post a title, it would be named “Crunching the Numbers.” When we drive our car, we look at the numbers on our speedometers to see how fast we are going. When we wonder if we need a jacket, we check the temperature. When we spend money, we check the balance in our checkbooks. When we are attempting to “sow” healthy habits, numbers can be of great benefit to us. Allow me to name a few:
- The steps on our Fitbit.
- The number of exercise reps (laps/pounds).
- The blood pressure reading.
- The number of hours that we sleep sound.
- The number of ounces (cups/quarts) of water we drink.
- The number of carbs (calories/proteins/points) in a day.
- And lastly—that number on our scales.
If you are like me, you want to be
done counting all of that. However, numbers can be a benefit to us as we are attempting to attain a healthy lifestyle. If we count now, maybe we won't have to count later. As we consistently make healthy choices using the numbers available, we will be
establishing the life that we love. Remember when I said—
“It is a gift we give ourselves?”
I have come down to the fact that being healthy and comfortably fitting into my clothes far outweighs the pull of the extra food that looks so good on the table. So, if we have to use the numbers right now, let’s do it!
With the holidays right around the corner, let’s commit our habits to God and ask Him to help us make the right choices.
Then we will be established and succeed at getting the right amounts of what our bodies need. Remember, you do not have to do this alone. God is standing by—waiting for you to call upon Him. He is the One establishes us in success.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust Him, and He will help you.
Psalm 37:5 (NLT)
Share this with someone you care about and together, we will sail right through the holidays—thanking God for His faithful presence.
