Finding Our New Normal #11

In my last post, I talked about “reviewing the good things” that happened during the day. It’s quite amazing what I discover when I choose to practice this exercise. If I am not intentional about looking for the good, those things slide under my radar, but when I search for them, they are there.
Each day let’s make it our goal to find three good things that happened in the previous eight hours. There are certain days when I can find 5-8 things but honestly, on other days I am hard-pressed to find one. If that’s you, search for the “one” until you find it. Then say,
“Thank You, God for ______________ .”
(Fill in the blank)
Did this one thing bring you joy, make you smile, lighten your heart? If so, it was worth the effort of searching for it.
As a parent, it brings me joy when my children say, “thank you.” I am sure God feels the same way when one of His
children acknowledges what He has done for them.
Having a grateful heart creates a healthy environment for our relationship with God. In this atmosphere of thankfulness, we are able to sense God’s presence and enjoy His fellowship. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Let’s practice looking for the good as we enter our “new normal.”

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
