Is anyone experiencing some negative emotions right now? Do you catch yourself getting frustrated with all the demands upon you or maybe you find yourself bored and you just need a change?
When we first began this “season” last March we thought we could easily handle two weeks. Then two weeks turned into a month, one month turned into two, and here we are going on six months. In the beginning, I said, “I am going to make the best of this.” Now, however, it’s a little
more difficult. I shared with a friend today that I had to kick my “gratitude” level up a notch because what was working last March wasn’t quite enough now that fall is looming ahead of us.
When our patience wears thin, negative emotions begin to surface and you just want to tell someone how unhappy—bored, frustrated, overwhelmed— you are. Several years ago when I was having an internal emotional meltdown about some situation, the Lord said to me, “Karol, the least you can do is keep your mouth shut.”
I had to laugh, but that was some of the best advice I ever received. It has saved me tons of complications, multiplied frustrations, and even damaged relationships—when I choose to give heed to it!
It’s not like we can’t share what we are feeling but it’s best to get those nasty emotions under control first. If we commit our feelings to God, He will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will. He knows just what to do in every situation and is willing to help us process our perceptions so you can respond correctly even in the worst of circumstances. God wants us to be successful in everything that concerns us, so let’s be quick to commit our feelings to Him and ask for His help.

all who trust in You,
all whose thoughts are fixed on You!
