Blame…..have you heard of it?? I think we would have to be living in a cave not to know there is plenty of blame flying around. It seems to be everywhere and it has escalated to dangerous levels in certain instances.
One day a thought came to me—
“Blame is the lowest level of resolving a conflict.”
Think about it—it’s the easiest thing to do and it carries no responsibility on our part. We blame the people who don’t wear masks—and blame those that do. We blame school administrators for trying to make wise decisions for the students and those that do not have enough preventative measures in place. We blame the mayor or governor for not declaring mandates and then we blame them if they do. And of course, the President is to blame for everything!
Anyone can blame because it’s so easy. It also produces no fruitful results. Conflicts will never be resolved through spewing blame. (Now if you feel strongly about an issue and want to go through the proper channels with the proper attitude, your voice may be heard—and positive changes may result.)
I remember the day that I realized that I did not have to have an opinion about what others were doing—or not doing. Do you realize how much stress leaves your life because you are not launching a verbal assault at someone—usually behind their back? In the absence of an opinion, blame has nothing to feed on. So let’s follow what the Bible says—
If possible,
as far as it depends on you,
live at peace with everyone.
