FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

I am getting ready to teach a five-week class at my church called Journey To A Friendship With God. As I was preparing, this song began running through my thoughts. Does anyone remember this?
I AM A FRIEND OF GOD
Who am I that you are mindful of me
That you hear me, when I call
Is it true that you are thinking of me
How you love me, it's amazing (Who am I Lord)
I am a friend of God

The Bible substantiates that we can be friends with God. Jesus is talking to His followers here and says —
I no longer call you slaves,
because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves.
Now you are My friends, since I have told you
everything the Father told Me.
John 15:15 (NLT)
We can go to God and ask Him any question. As we yield to Him, His Holy Spirit will bring the answer into our thoughts. I am always overjoyed when that happens because it’s a thought I did not think.
I have mentioned this in a previous blog post, but it’s worth repeating. “God isn’t keeping (the answer) from us; He’s keeping it for us.”
Let’s see what the Bible has to say about that:
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing:
but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
Proverbs 25:2 (KJV)
Or how about this one?
The secret things belong unto the Lord our God:
but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our
children for ever, that we may do all the word of this law.
Deuteronomy 29:29 (KJV)
Or this?
So then, let us [apostles] be looked upon as
ministering servants of Christ and stewards (trustees)
of the mysteries (the secret purposes) of God.
I Corinthians 4:1 (AMPC)
I think God is saying, “Come! Ask Me your questions and I will give you instructions so you can “be established and succeed.” I think He would rather come to Him before we charge ahead and make a mess that He has to help us clean up. Been there — done that!
So what question is presently in the forefront of your mind? I challenge you to write it on today’s page in your journal. Then pray the “30-Second Prayer.”
Father, I commit this question to You.
Cause me to think the way You think—
So I know what to do.

A lot of thoughts enter our brain. Some are based on true and others are what we assume to be true. Those are called false assumptions. These thoughts came to mind a few weeks ago. I knew they were from God because it was simple and concise. “Simplify your life, set it in order, and steward it well.” Refer to to last week’s episode: 92- It’s NOT Working! This week make an appointment—and invite God to come. Ask Him how you can be more successful in each area. And thank Him for being involved in your life.
