RECALIBRATE

Recently I had an emergency where I had to drive to an unfamiliar location. I had no idea where it was in the city, so I programmed my GPS to get me there in the most efficient way. As I neared my destination, I marveled at how intricate the instructions were. My ”Global Positioning System” led me to the parking garage next to the entrance of the building. My stress level dissipated as a quickly parked my car and walked into the building. Because I followed the directions, I experienced success.
The above description is the perfect analogy for our “Powerful Proverbs Promise.”
“Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will,
and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.”
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC)
To be successful, we need to roll our works — or our plans — upon the Lord. When we are submitted to God’s leadership, He promises to cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will.
For example, let’s say that you are debating about taking a road trip this weekend. First, you look at your calendar and then perhaps your checkbook to determine if the trip is feasible. Assuming that it is, you submit your plans to God because as we have learned, He sees everything from His vantage point. He sees roadblocks that might cost you extra time and money. He knows if the road will be smooth or if the way will be “bumpy.” Nobody wants to expect a fun, relaxing weekend only to encounter stress and disappointments.
God wants His children to have pleasant times, but perhaps there is a better weekend to go or a better location to consider. If we allow God to recalibrate
or adjust our thinking to come into line with His perfect will, we will have a wonderful time that we will long remember.
The keys to success in any plan is to—
- Make the plan
- Submit the plan to God and ask for His approval
- Slowly begin to carry out the plan
- Being sensitive to making necessary recalibration
As you allow God to guide you using “God’s Positional System,” you will successfully reach your desired destination. Not only will you experience enjoyment, but you will turn your joy into thanksgiving to God for helping you make it all possible!

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
