In my last post, I talked about committing our calendars to God so we will be in the right place—at the right time. As we commit all of our activities to the One who knows everything, He promises to cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will so that we will
“be established and succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3 AMPC)
Okay, here’s how we do that. Let’s say a friend asks you to go hiking this weekend and you want to go. You reply with “That sounds good. I’ll pencil it in.” The activity is now flagged as tentative. If you have committed every day of your calendar to God, He will give you a head’s up in advance if there is going to be a complication. This gives you time to make the necessary changes so neither of you will be inconvenienced.
Last March I was planning a trip to Florida to spend time with my family. As we got the news of COVID, I saw that I should try to reschedule my flight for a later date. This interruption of plans didn’t cause disappointment because I have given God the right to cancel, postpone, or rearrange anything necessary to keep me in the right place—at the right time. When we do that, we are never disappointed.
And this hope will not lead to disappointment.
For we know how dearly God loves us because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with HIs love.

We can spare ourselves a lot of trouble, heartache, confusion, exhaustion—and not to mention wasted time and money—by inviting God into the very start of each day.
