YOUR KINGDOM COME
Hi everyone!
There are seasons in our lives when re-evaluating and re-grouping are necessary. Most of us are in that mode now as we end 2021 and head into a new year.
As I have mentioned before, heaven has a rhythm. Everything operates perfectly in heaven. Nobody is tired, overwhelmed, or frustrated in heaven. That’s because everything flows in a rhythm according to God’s will.
Now let’s look at this scripture:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:9-10 (NIV)
In this scripture, Jesus is instructing His disciples to pray that God’s kingdom — or His rhythm - would come into the earth. You might say, “God, Your kingdom come into my plans today. Change my plans, rearrange them, or even delete them if they are not of You.” Sometimes I add, “God, please do not let me have my own way because Your way is so much better.” When we pray simple, straightforward prayers like this, He instructs us in plain, simple language — the kind we can understand and apply to our daily lives.
I like to begin the day by committing my plans to Him and asking for His thoughts concerning what I plan to do. The Bible says that everyone who asks receives from Him. (Matthew 7:8) When I ask, I am making room for God to spend the day with me. I then try to be mindful of Him as I set out to accomplish my plans. It is then that God plants His instructions into my thoughts.
A few days ago I was standing at the island in my kitchen and a thought came to me. I knew it was a thought I did not think because it was totally new to me. God was causing my thoughts to “become agreeable to His will.” (Proverbs 16:3 AMPC)
When I carried out HIs instructions, my situation resulted in being established in peace and being successful. It was God and I working together to create a heavenly rhythm here on the earth — in my day.
Now if I could just get in the flow of always turning everything over to God. I am working on it! However, I am discovering that the more I do it, the more successful I become — and that my friend — is motivating.
I challenge you to make this daily commitment of your plans to God. Then pray this powerful 30-Second Prayer that the Holy Spirit gave me:
Father, I commit my plans to You.
Cause me to think the way You think—
So I know what to do.
Do it every day — and even several times a day — and watch for the rhythm of heaven to come into the earth to bless your life. Together let’s make 2022 the most successful year we’ve ever had, no matter what is going on around us.
